Now Offering Freeze Dried Breastmilk!

Freeze drying your extra breastmilk can be a great way to unload your freezer stash, keep some milk on your for emergencies and carry milk for travel! It reduces your breastmilk down to a fine powder that is prepackaged in either large bags you can measure yourself or pre measured bags. The you just add water on the go to make a bottle of your very own milk.

The process

Freeze drying is a great way to preserve nutrients as well as add convenience to your life. You can store breastmilk for longer than the 1 year freezer recommendation without filling up or needing more freezer space. No worries if the power goes out, your milk is safe.

A freeze dryer works by first freezing the food, then removing the moisture through a process called sublimation. A vacuum pump creates low pressure in the chamber, and the frozen food is gently heated, causing the ice to turn directly into a gas (vapor) and exit the food. The water vapor then freezes as ice on the chamber's cold walls. This method preserves the food's shape, color, and 97% of its nutrients, and unlike dehydration, it removes almost all water content.

I have a dedicated space for freeze drying and preserving your milk in the Charlotte region. Drop off will be at my home and pick up there in approximately 1-2 weeks. Please reach out for more details and information on how to package and safely deliver your milk! There are options for bulk packaging vs individual bags.

Cost is .75/$1.00 per oz of breastmilk depending on the final packaging. A deposit is due at drop off and the remainder at pickup. Contact me for more details!
